Progress Update 6/27/2026
Hello and welcome to another Thrive holiday Progress Update! As our lead programmer is on vacation, we will be providing you with weekly updates on volunteer programming contributions, and things that happen outside of programming.
Though it has not been pushed to the Thrive Github page, work on Multicellular Auto-evo is still ongoing. There is now infrastructure for actually adding cells to existing species, though the specifics still need refinement and optimisation (auto-evo running too slow in the Multicellular Stage is a major concern). Adding mutation strategies for species to use to place cells is a likely next step.
There's also an ongoing experiment to “stretch” membranes in Multicellular species to make them fit together more closely. If this works out, it should make them look a lot more cohesive instead of scaffold of cells.
Look below for some additional details and we'll see you next week for another vacation Progress Update!
