Progress Update 1/16/2021

Last week we released 0.5.3, which sadly didn't include the binding agents yet. We are planning to release 0.5.3.1 once the binding agents are done. Some work happened this week regarding the saving errors that seem very common in 0.5.3. The good news is that we have identified the actual problem and fixed it. This fix will be included in 0.5.3.1 when that is released.

We are getting closer to the next release, it's scheduled in two weeks so stay tuned for that! Some things that this new version may feature are Thermoplasts, last week we showed several concepts and models for this new mechanic and today we have something new: A Temperature Gradient Bar.

Finally we have a model for binding agents, this means we are closer to implementing them. We have a model for Thermoplasts too and more concepts for their working.

We also bring you a new DevBuild for patrons, with many new features and bug fixes. There are other new concepts this week as well, showing a possible new UI for later 3D stages, another ATP bar overhaul and the possibility of adding Pyruvate as an intermediate compound in cellular respiration.

Another Build of the day is available. This time it features key bindings which now can be changed to whatever configuration you want! We also fixed some issues and bugs related to the UI.

More work on translations. We added support for fallback fonts, in other words, languages that use other alphabets like Chinese or Hebrew are now supported.

We implemented graphs for the Patch Report, they don't react to the environmental changes yet, but at least the UI portion is done. We also have a concept for a new species propagation mechanic, in which very prolific species can spread further that others. We'll talk more about this concept in future updates.

We fleshed out binding agents a bit more during this week. We now have rules for when binding cells collide, which cell should be the one leading the colony (Either the player cell or the cell in binding mode) , and how this rules apply to colonies.

We also have a draft of rules for when we form a non-profit association to finance the game and work on translations continues.
