We have exciting news this week as we have finally assembled our Multicellular Stage Release Roadmap! As we are still hoping to finish the stage this year, this is the list of things we are planning to implement by 2027. You may note that this looks like a lot of releases in one year, and a limited number of features in each release. It is quite likely that some of these will be merged into fewer, larger updates.

It's been another slow week in new feature terms, as work on our development support system still took up time, and there was one less working day. So the devbuild is limited to some display changes and fixes for a few less common bugs. Most of the roadmap discussion happened elsewhere, so there was also less activity over on the development forums. There were both a theory and game design post on sexual reproduction and reproduction modes, one of the major planned features early on the roadmap. Additionally, there was a design post on several ways to handle non-cell parts in the Multicellular editor.

Look below for the full progress list, and we will see you next week with our progress on the roadmap!

Programming

  • New Devbuild available to our Patreon Supporters:
    • Fixed the extinction screen not using population amount suffixes
    • Fixed the options menu applying a lot of duplicate settings updates on opening it, now the bulk settings change doesn't trigger changes
    • Fixed non-useful compounds being added to tally of colony compounds when distributing them, which could otherwise trigger an infinite compound amount bug
    • Updated code checking tools
    • Added more code safety check against invalid state colonies in the movement system
    • Fixed a few new code warnings from new IDE updates
    • Updated Arch dependencies
    • Added an editor config file trying to mark Godot-generated files as generated
    • Updated translations
