Progress Update 05/10/2025

A week after the release of 0.8.2, our focus is on polishing some bug reports for our upcoming hotfix, 0.8.2.1. Along with some pretty notable squashed bugs, official support for Mac for both Thrive itself and the Launcher will be coming soon.
Stay tuned for information on the upcoming hotfix, and read for some more information on what’s been done!
Programming
- New DevBuild for our patrons:
- Chemoreceptors and tutorial direction lines were noticeably dark and difficulty to see. This has been fixed, and the lines should now be visible.
- Fixed issues with mouse clicks not being recognized in the top left corner.
- Process panel indicators now speed up if 2X speed is on.
- Selected cell type is cleared if deleted in three Macroscopic Stage.
- Command line to skip initial mod loading now present.
- Updated unit testing packages.
- Updated translations.
- Work on the launcher, which will likely be updated soon.
- Both Thrive and its launcher are close to being Mac signed. Thrive on Steam will be playable on Mac in the coming weeks.
Graphics
- Our blur shader has dimmed the background for those who use OpenGL. Though not yet as bright as for those who use Vulkan, background brightness has been increased.
Gameplay
- Along with usual discussion of upcoming release priorities, some posts focused on bioluminescence and currents on the development forums.
