Progress Update 10/12/2019
After deciding which new features will be in the next release we've been brainstorming ideas about how to implement them both on Discord and the dev forums, you can check the full list here if you want to know what's comming.
Not everything has been discussing though, we also have progressed on new things, like a color wheel for changing your cell's appereance as well as some concepts for upcomming features.

Progress Update 10/5/2019
Last weekend was the 0.4.2 release, we hope you had fun with it and enjoyed its new features! Unfortunatelly, there were some things that didn't make it, particularly the new UI, but we've been working on it during the past two weeks to make sure it will be included in the next release.

We're back, and we come bearing a gift: Thrive 0.4.2.
As if one ecosystem full of dynamically evolving cells of all shapes and sizes wasn't enough, it's time to experience the might of several chained together, rife for evolutionary exploration. This release introduces the patch map, the first step towards a wider simulation.

This week has seen a lot of progress from the programing team. Patches are now implemented, there's a new more efficient auto evo framework (though it's not perfect but it causes less lag than before) and there has been progress towards creating a procedural patch map generator.

There has been a lot of discussion about how should the game transition from the current 2D environment to a 3D one. As you may know, the multicelular stage will be 3D and we need this question answered before we start working on it.
Fortunatelly, there has been a lot of concept art this week to try answer that. There has also been a lot progress on having the patch system finally done and to improve performance, which will be crucial for the next release. We are getting there!

We have a lot of new concept art this week as well as some progress on the Programming and Theory teams.
A new audio library has been implemented, is more efficient than the previous one so hopefully performance should be better now.

Progress Update 8/31/19
While this week has been a bit slow there has been quite a bit of progress behind the scences. Most notably, we have a new wiki wich unlike the previous one can be edited by all team members. This will make it easier to keep everything up to date.
Also there has been some progress on reducing memory usage and a few UI improvements, among other things.

Progress Update 8/24/19
We have a lot of work to do on the graphics engines to fix its issues and get all the bugs out. Thanks to all of you for helping us test it and for giving us feedback on it.
In addition to that we have some fancy artists that have been busy working hard on some pretty cool stuff for us all, as well as some neat updates in other areas as well. Check them out below.

Ideas have flooded through this week, we have a lot of new ideas that we are going over. While all great ideas, some might change or be replaced by better ideas down the road. Either way, check out all the work that has been done with week.
hhyyrylainen has made a Dev Build Prototype with the new graphics engine (BSF), try it out here, or check out the forum post here. It is open for a public test and we want people to help us find all the flaws with it.
