Progress Update 03/25/2023
We've had a lot more progress in the prototype stages, as development speeds through each stage to set up the skeleton of Thrive's complete image. Aside from that however, we unfortunately don't have much else to show off this week.

Progress Update 03/18/2023
We have a few fun things to show off this week, though mostly in the prototypes. Continued progress in the awakening prototype has led to the introduction of a crafting and gathering system in the game, allowing you to construct rudimentary tools with which to master your world. A new music track is in the works, as well as a few fine artistic additions.

Progress Update 03/11/2023
This week we've made great progress on the awakening stage prototype with the introduction of an inventory system that allows you to hold and store objects. In addition, creatures now need a functional brain in order to reach the awakening stage. Who knew holding rocks could be so demanding?

Progress Update 03/04/2023
This week we got quite a few small programming tasks done, but a lot of time was spent on further developing the later stage prototypes. This week we already have simple aware stage prototype as well as the beginnings of awakening stage. By the time of the next Thrive release we may already have multiple more very basic stage prototypes done.

With the release of 0.6.1 we were pleasantly surprised that there were no reported issues from the get go, and didn't have to release a single hotfix. having gone smoothly as ever, we're back on the tracks of development in preparation for the next update!

We're back again with our latest tri-monthly release of Thrive! This update brings to you a long awaited feature; The further adaptation and specialization of otherwise familiar parts. That is to say, part upgrades are finally here! As of now, only one upgrade exists, which provides cilia with a brand new functionality for players to experiment with. This and more, will be elaborated upon further into the post.

It's now the final week before the release of 0.6.1, and feature freeze is now in full effect. Aside from bugfixes and any other critical changes, no new features will be implemented until after the release of this update. It was a slow start and we haven't implemented all that we planned to for this update, but what we did implement will lay the groundwork for lot's of potentially exciting new upgrades that may come in the next update!

Another successful week of incremental fleshing out has passed. Along with mechanic discussions being held on the forums, we have began working on implementing website news in Thrive’s main menu itself. Such a feature will result in a very seamless and streamlined experience for the player.

This week, we have taken strides in making it easier to work on Thrive. Most notably, we have updated to using .NET 7 and have removed our dependency on Python for translations. A new multicellular track is also in the works!
The cilia pulling in things mechanic implementation is also finally progressing again thanks to work starting on a general upgrades system which will be used to enable that for the cilia.

Progress Update 01/21/2023
Development continues at a steady pace as we reach new milestones in controller functionality, and some small tweaks here and there to eliminate bugs. Feature discussion has ramped up a bit as we continue to refine our plans for the game.
There was a bit of miscommunication last week regarding controller support, so to clarify; The editor is a far cry from being navigable via controller, and currently only supports tab switching with the controller.
