Progress Update 7/26/2025
This week's devbuild is less dense than usual, but a solid amount of work has occurred behind the scenes. The framework towards achievements is being established, though we are waiting on some graphics work to decorate them. Some solid work has also been done on the basic planet customization options, though a sizable amount of playtesting is needed to iron out bugs. Some activity on the developer forums also finds itself on this progress update.
Thrive's soundtrack will soon be on Steam, featuring the game's soundtrack playlist! With two discs and 22 songs in, it will be updated as development extends to future stages once their soundtracks are complete. If you want a copy of your own soundtrack and to further develop Thrive's development, consider purchasing the soundtrack on our Steam page when it comes out!
Programming
- New DevBuild for our patrons:
- Increased max zoom out distance when playing as a large cell colony
- Fixed iron meteor event not being able to add iron to a patch that didn't have any iron
- Fixed species preview images not updating when the species mutated
- Fixed freebuild species missing tooltips showing what they look like. Note that species that go immediately extinct still don't have tooltips.

- Further discussion on polishing the Microbe Stage on the development forums as its development nears completion.
