Progress Update 11/26/2022
Development continues as we march on to the eventual release of 0.6.0, which grows increasingly exciting with each new change and addition! it may be fortunate news or not, but we have decided to push the release date of 0.6.0 forward by a week to give us more time to finish up some of the heftier features such as the day/night cycle which as been giving us some unexpected trouble. We really hope to have these done by release, but cannot make any promises.
0.6.0 is now slated to rel…

This week, development efforts have largely been centered around the continued testing and refinement of our day/night feature which has proven to be deceptively complicated to implement. The feature is not yet ready for the devbuild, but we hope to at least have it complete in time for the next release.
While probably not as exciting to most fans, progress continues on our upcoming revamped launcher which should substantially streamline user experience and process handling.

The fruits of our labor finally emerge this week, with the now complete thriveopedia system fully operational and an exciting new video introduction for the game. Make sure to turn on intro videos if you have them disabled!
The Thriveopedia currently features the clade diagram, savefile statistics, and the fossilization menu used to marvel at species you have saved. In the future, it may also contain helpful articles providing in-depth information on certain features and functions o…

We have made some exciting progress this week, with the introduction of a new game intro, conceptualization of a new macroscopic editor design, and excellent progress on many of the open pull requests left over from the previous update.
Unfortunately not much made it into the devbuild for this week, but that leaves plenty to look forward to next Saturday!

- Updated some c…

This week we have begun to see a rise in activity as we are able to make some progress on some of our open PRs and the new and improved launcher. There may not be too much in the way of visible progress this week, but it's progress nonetheless!

Not much progress to report this week, outside of a couple changes detailed in the programming section below. On the bright side, our developers are beginning to report back in so development can be expected to pick up a little in the coming weeks.
In other news, we've recently been featured in a blog-post by github in an article on how open-source games are providing a unique approach to the culture of game development! The article contains quotes from an interview between the …

The quiet weeks stretch on as many devs continue to be occupied by their education, but progress continues nonetheless. This week we've made progress on the Thriveopedia, some optimization of Thrive's background functions, and the multiplayer experiment. Additionally, we have made some significant changes to the English translation of the game.
Cleanup has been performed on the English language dictionary and most entries are now properly setup with the key English text and explanat…

Our lead developer has begun focusing on a new and improved launcher, migrated from javascript to C#. Another of our developers has created a rudimentary prototype of multiplayer as a side project, and one of our graphics artists continues to design revamped symbology for our newest microbe part.
It's been a rather quiet week otherwise, but progress steadily marches on.
If you have any thoughts on the latest changes to Thrive, please let us know by creating a post in our ded…

It was an exciting week after the release of 0.5.10, and we have been very happy to see how much everyone has enjoyed the new mucilage jet and compound generation in action. But while players have been experimenting with their newfound cellular sugar rockets, the Thrive team has been largely quiet post-release. The ongoing college semester and encroaching holidays has momentarily robbed us of much of our volunteer support, so expect a slow week or two in the coming days.
Despite tha…
